i remember when nj.com was like "we should change the state flag its boring" and they went with the bland red/white/blue design (those arent even the state colors) even though the abstract nordic cross was objectively better

make them visually distinct vs local representation?
not my job to fix these flags, it was the unimaginative/racist vexillologists who decided to differentiate their state flags by the different hate symbols they'd feature
